Halcyon, a 2001 Little Harbor 38, was purchased in 2015 by its current owner, an experienced, lifelong sailor who was seeking an easily handled power boat to be enjoyed with his wife in their senior years. Their primary interests were in hosting guests on short, coastal day trips around Buzzards Bay and the Elizabeth Islands and for longer trips to Cape Ann, Maine and the Connecticut shore. The couple’s goals for owning their Little Harbor 38 were a combination of safety at sea; seaworthiness; comfort and convenience for on-board living; as well as beautiful lines - all of which they found in Halcyon. Although jet drives became the predominant form of propulsion for the Little Harbor 38s, Halcyon features propellers for improved efficiency and better rough water performance. No jet drives! Hull and Deck
The Little Harbor hull is built with knitted bi-directional E-glass with Kevlar outer skin to provide a rigid, strong, impact resistant hull. Layout and Accommodations
V-berth arrangement forward with filler to make a large double or filler in the lower position to provide a seat. Storage lockers and shelves outboard over berth.Fore and aft facing dinette to starboard amidship seats four and converts to sleep two.A full galley is opposite to port.Companionway on center and head is aft to port.The interior and the bridge deck are air conditioned.Forward on the bridge deck, the helm is to starboard and features a full array of electronics on custom teak overlay. Leather covered, stainless steel destroyer wheel. There is a chart table to port behind which is a comfortable settee/dinette arrangement that seats four to five and converts to sleep two.Aft to starboard is a bar top with lift-top locker concealing a built-in refrigerator/freezer. Custom slide-out garbage bin, and lockers are within the bar cabinet.The cockpit features a stern bench seat. Removable bar / table on custom stainless steel leg. Both the cockpit and bridge deck soles are laid teak.
